Bessie Mae Howell

Bessie Mae Howell, age 81, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born October 11, 1942 in DeFuniak Springs. She had a special love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Path of Grace Church in DeFuniak Springs.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Howell; son, Bobby Trentham; and grandson, Jonathan Tyler Howell.

Bessie is survived by two sons, David Trentham and John Howell, both of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three step-children, Larry Howell of DeFuniak Springs, Marsha Gibson of DeFuniak Springs, and Sarah Rizer of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Crystal Trentham of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Kristie Murphy of Westville, Florida; and numerous other extended family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Terry Smith and Minister David Wilson officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs.
